Biggest Upside Down House
The biggest upside down house in the world is a toss up between
a Polish home, a Japanese dwelling and a German abode (starts
like the beginning of a drinking annectdote now doesn't it). Not
much is known about the Japanese dwelling (pictured bottom of
page) such as square footage, so this adds to the mystery.
Businessman Daniel Czapiewski built his self-proclaimed biggest
upside down house (pictured above, bottom) in the world in a small
Polish town called Szymbark (Okay, it's time to insert your own
Polish joke here).
Apparently, the construction of the Polish upside down house
ran five times the projected time frame since the workers were
confused about the obvious structural issues (building a home
right side up is hard enough).
Not to be outdone by the Poles and Japanese, German designers
Klaudiusz Golos and Sebastion Mikuciuk decided to not only put
the exterior of the home upside down, but build the interior and
furniture upside down as well (pictured above, top).
The German "World Stands on Its Head" project is very
precise in its architecture and interior design.

The biggest upside down house in Japan
does make one wonder how the furniture is arranged. It also
makes a person wonder whether or not it is structurally
sound enough to stand in all parts of the building, even
the base that seems to be tipping over.

Anyway, that said, would anyone like to bake a pineapple upside
down cake in one of these? Anyone?
